Are you looking for an indoor or outdoor location? I got married at Jim Sprick Park on Chinook Pass about five years ago. Whistlin' Jack Lodge is another great wedding or reception location that is up that way. Summer weddings in the Naches/Cliffdell area are great because it's usually about ten degrees cooler in the mountains than it is in Yakima.
Another nice outdoor location in Yakima is the Arboretum, and some of the city and county parks also accomodate weddings. I would also encourage you to look into the wineries in the Yakima area. Many of them do weddings. This website has a great Yakima winery guide so that might be a good place to start.
My wedding was really simple and I didn't have catering or a DJ or any other professionals involved, so I can't give you too many pointers in that area off the top of my head. I would recommend getting your location first though, since the more popular ones book up fast!
Good luck, and feel free to email me at naomi (at) everythingyakima.com if you have any other questions.
