Ideas/Suggestions needed - 2007/04/25 10:50 Looking for Ideas & Suggestions...
I'm in the process of trying to plan my wedding for next year-2008 & neither my fianc'e nor I live in yakima currently...although, he is from the area.
I would love to get some feedback from anyone who might have suggestions of places to have our special day happen & of any vendors they migth know of that I could check in to.
Theses are some things I'm looking for[li] ceremony/ reception site, caterer & anything else you think might come in handy.
I appreciate the help & the time you took to look into this for me..thanks, Alicia

Re:Ideas/Suggestions needed - 2007/04/27 16:51 Are you looking for an indoor or outdoor location? I got married at Jim Sprick Park on Chinook Pass about five years ago. Whistlin' Jack Lodge is another great wedding or reception location that is up that way. Summer weddings in the Naches/Cliffdell area are great because it's usually about ten degrees cooler in the mountains than it is in Yakima.

Another nice outdoor location in Yakima is the Arboretum, and some of the city and county parks also accomodate weddings. I would also encourage you to look into the wineries in the Yakima area. Many of them do weddings. This website has a great Yakima winery guide so that might be a good place to start.

My wedding was really simple and I didn't have catering or a DJ or any other professionals involved, so I can't give you too many pointers in that area off the top of my head. I would recommend getting your location first though, since the more popular ones book up fast!

Good luck, and feel free to email me at naomi (at) everythingyakima.com if you have any other questions.

Re:Ideas/Suggestions needed - 2008/06/20 14:41 I agree with NPOLLACK: the wineries around here are gorgeous! Have you been to Hyatt Winery? It's one of the most scenic! We had a blast when we went there for the Spring Barrel tastings...
