I am wondering how many people in Yakima.......... - 2006/09/29 23:48 I wonder how many people in Yakima have Fibromyalgia. It has become a fast growing illness here and abroad. It is an illness that effects the trigger points in the body and effects the muscles. Currently there is no cure, and only now is there really beginning to be research for it, and recognition.

Is there a good support group here in town? Are their any doctors that specialize in it here?

Re:I am wondering how many people in Yakima.......... - 2006/09/30 00:06 Hi!

I was working on a business and marketing plan a couple of years ago and at that time there were several differing reports on Yakima area populations. The most consistent numbers I heard were about 88,000 for the City of Yakima proper, 110,000 for the Yakima metro area, and 220,000 to 250,000 for Yakima County.

Here are some resources:

I don't know much about Fibromyalgia, so I don't think I can be much help there!

Re:I am wondering how many people in Yakima.......... - 2008/01/21 17:55 As an Acupuncturist I have helped a few people with fibromyalgia to get relief from the pain and fatigue that is associatede with it. I have treated about 12 people in this area with it all with different degrees of success but all with some relief and lessening of the symptoms so that they could get their llives back.
