Kent School of Dance is a great dance studio!

My daughters have been dancing with KSD since they were small and I've always been impressed with the good attitudes of the staff and teachers. At Kent School of Dance their slogan "Where the first word in dance is FUN!" definitely sums it up. Preschoolers through graduate dancers come through the office with a smile and are greeted by name by the staff.
KSD has two competition teams. They hosts dance workshops with nationally known instructors and dancers in the studio a couple times a year, and offer the occaisional class in alternate styles of dance. Teacher Lorie Holtey owns the studio and is a nationally known dancer herself, affiliated with a national traveling workshop, she helps run workshops all over the country and is in charge of regional Pro Bowl auditions-among many other things! Her mom, Jean, runs the office and that's a BIG job that she does very efficiently!
One thing that I especially like is that at KSD you don't have to buy a costume for every dance your child is in, they usually try and get class costumes that can be worn with different accessories and will be versatile enough for a couple years, barring growth!
A friend of mine looked into starting her 3 year old in dance at a different place and found out that she would need probably 2 costumes for the first recital-for a 3 year old! At KSD they provide preschoolers with add-on pieces that go with basic leos for recital, eliminating that cost to parents! Not until they are established in a class when they are around 7 or 8 do they have to buy costumes. My girls both take a combo class of tap/jazz/ballet/tumbling but KSD offers much more!
